Shubhranshu is a mechanical engineer, who retired recently from the Indian Railways. He was the Chief Administrative Officer of Rail Wheel Plat, Bela (Bihar), were he wrote a turnaround story of a long-neglected wheel factory. Earlier, he led that team at Integral Coach Factory, Perambur (Chennai) that designed and delivered the Vande Bharat Express in a record time of eighteen months. Other major projects that he has planed and executed are the manufacture of High Horsepower Locomotive in Diesel Loco Works, Varanasi in collaboration with the ElectroMotive Division of General Motors of USA and another factory in Madhepura of Bihar under a JV/PPP arrangement with General Electric of USA. Shubhranshu has held key operational positions of ane Executive Director Railway Board, the Divisional Railway Manager of Salem, Tamil Nadu and the Chief Safety Officer of Central Railway. He has, to his credit, significant quantifiable improvements in train operations and safety. Shubhranshu also holds an additional degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He has travelled widely to Europe and North America for projects and training.
